About UNICCA

Research in UNICCA aims to improve existing cancer screening programmes as well as exploring the potential for new screening initiatives.

We leverage our unique organization being part of the administration of all current cancer programmes in the Central Denmark Region, as well as having strong ties to the clinical and laboratory departments that are responsible for diagnostic and screening derived procedures at Randers Regional Hospital.

Additionally, we maintain an extensive scientific network within the region, across the country, and globally.

We value a broad range of scientific methodologies, always selecting the most appropriate approach to best address the unanswered research questions.

Our activities are primarily driven by senior researchers who are affiliated with UNICCA and Aarhus University as associated or full professors. The research focus areas evolve over time, depending on the scientific progress, societal and political health care developments, as well as interests of the researchers involved.

However, we always work with a commitment to making significant contributions to the future of cancer screening in Denmark and beyond.
